TESTIMONIES
I had just come back from Secret's of the Kingdom Weekend Retreat at Long Beach Island, NJ and was totally fired up to see what God was going to do in my school (Atlantic City High School). My visions of pulling people out of wheelchairs and healing kids in my athletic trainers offices! I was so excited but found that when I got vack to school things were much different. I didn't see anyone get healed but what I did see was amazing.
This girl I had known since the sixth grade happened to be sitting next to me during a standarized testing week. Our group moved much faster thatn the others and was done a good 40 minutes early. While we were sitting there the Spirit of God told me to talk to her, not about God, but about her. I had known her all these years but still had not known very much of anything about her. We got to talking and with about 10 minutes left in the period we got to the topic og how she was raised Catholic and how whe wasn't really convinved and that her parents tried to force "religion" on her. I began to speak to her about some of the testimonies of myself and others that I knew and about how regular Christians really are.
The conversation carried over into the next period even through the hall way. Five minutes into the next class the Holy Spirit stirred within me and I began to speak very boldly. I had never seen one of my classmates so open and I guess I wanted to take advantage of it. After a little while, I looked up and to my astonishment, huddled around us, on top of desks and on the floors were the rest of the kids in the class! They were pressed in and listening intently. They began to ask questions and share things that had happened to them personally. Never before had I witnessed my school so open to the Gospel. Thanks be to God for he alone had the power to change hearts. I pray that the seed that was planted will quickly take root and that the harvest will be great. Glory to God in the highest!
