FROM HERE TO THERE
"From Egypt to the Promised Land"
Chapter 1
- The more one prospers in the world the more the world tries to oppress them.
- In places today like Rwanda when one people group is threatened by another thru being the minority etc. they respond forcefully against the other.
- Even while we are in sin and bondage, God has a way of looking out for us.
- As we remain in the world the more we become a slave to what it offers, no matter how we prosper we are still enslaved to what we work so hard to gain.
Chapter 2
- Moses means pulled out, God raised up Moses as a deliverer to pull out Israel from the bondage of Egypt.
- God has given us a deliverer to pull us out of sin and bondage to and rescue us from slavery to this world.
- When we jump ahead of God and act on His behalf without His leading the results will not be what we may have thought.
- We cannot allow our passion to see change cause us to react on impulse rather than on God's timing.
- It may seem like one's purpose be lost because of a lack of judgment and the results therefore, but God's purpose never ends for His children, God will now take us to a place where He can develop us and prepare us to fulfill our purpose in the right way. Which usually will be a unlikely place.
- God will use me wherever I am, no matter how little it may seem to what is really within me, but let me learn to enjoy every season in life, even while having the passion to see what is in me fulfilled.
- While in my desert experience I must prepare myself and be ready for when He calls.
- It is the cries of God's people that brings forth their deliverance.
- God only delivers those who really want to be delivered. Crying shows the desperation we have inwhich God cannot deny.
Chapter 3
- When God reveals Himself He does in a manner that portrays what He is about to do. Example God revealing Himself in the thornbush on fire, represents children of Israel in humiliation as a people in the midst of the fire going through persecution and purification, while the fire not burning the bush represents how despite persecution God's hand was keeping Israel from being destroyed, the fire also represents judgment that Egypt would face for oppressing God's people.
- Taking ones shoes off represents not having dirt defile a place. It was cultural to do so when entering another's abode as to honor to their household.
- God responds when His people call upon Him, He does not force Himself upon those who do not ask, we must cry out for deliverance.
- God will not take us out of some place we don't really want to go, if we really want to be delivered from sin, we would cry out to God until we are.
- God is looking for those who will have His compassion for those enslaved to sin and bring the message of deliverance through reconciliation with God through Christ.
- Before one can truly lead they must first be humble, God took Moses through 40 years of humility in Midian before He sent him back to judge Egypt and deliver His people.
- As God uses us to rescue others from sin, we are now responsible to lead them to the place we are in God, to reproduce ourselves in others.
- God is the I am meaning He is whatever He reveals Himself to be, while dieties have no power to reveal themselves as anything , this meaning of God proves He is the only God for He is active in revealing Himself to His people as everything He needs to be. When Israel needed a deliverer God revealed Himself as that, when God needed a provider , He reveale Himself as Jehovah Jireh, etc, but in all of God revealing Himself to man, He is the same God, and not a different God for each.
- As God reveals Himself to me I must with for instruction before I go forth.
- When God's purposes are halted by man, I must not bow to defeat but understand that God will deliver what He promised to do.
- When God delivers His people He also returns to them whatever the enemy has stolen, exceedingly above and beyond all man could even ask or think.
Chapter 4
- Signs are important to have when a people are refusing to listen or believe that what we say is true. People want to see proof to what we say is true. A sign is a proof that God is with thee. I need to ask God for signs, wonders, and miracles to verify the words that I speak.
- What God has already given me is what He will use to be a sign to the world. Whatever abilities I presently have I need to ask God to touch them and make them a sign to the world of His marvelous power. I need to pray that whatever God has given me He will use as a sign to the world that He is there.
- I must not be afraid of what God has given me, but just grab a hold of it and use it for His glory. If God has given me a healing anointing I must use it and not be afraid that it won't work. I must use what God has already given me if I am going to be used in anyway.
- I must be willing to demonstrate the abilities God has given me if they are going to be used.
- When a sign is not enough to cause one to believe I need not give up but ask for greater signs.
- Before I can be used by God to deliver people from sin, I must get my eyes off my own limitations and simply trust God that He is the one enabling me to do what He is asked of.
- I need not be afraid of what to speak but know that God is with me and He will teach me what to say.
- God will do whatever it takes to accomplish His will if He has to use another He will.
- Whatever gift God has given me is what He will use to demonstate His power.
- Our families must be delivered from sin before we reach out and deliver others.
- When I am truly called to a people the people will receive me and trust and listen to what I have to say.
Chapter 5
- When people don't see results right away and have to suffer therefore those with God's vision will find themselves usually on their own, and will have to just suck it up and believe in God that the vision He gave them will come to pass in His timing, understanding the enemy is doing everything he can to discourage and resist, but God through us holdling on to His words is always faithful.
- Many will even say that what we believe God said is not true and God will judge us for speaking it.
- Sometimes things do get worse before the get better because God is setting up the enemy for a bigger fall.
- When it seems like the enemy is winning, God always comes to reassure He is God and everything is in control.
- We put God to remembrance of His promises when we cry out to Him.
- I must remember it is not my ability that gets results for it is God that is at work all He needs is my body to be obedient to His command. For He is my strength in all my weaknesses. I must not forget or disbelieve the words God has given me due to the lack of faith and discouragement of others.
Chapter 7
- All of my weaknesses are wiped away in Him, for His is my refuge and strength.
- It is not my ability that amounts to anything but it is the power in the words that God gives me that accomplishes what God sent them to perform.
