Be Attached to Nothing
Mat 24:15-26 "You will see 'The Awful Horror' of which the prophet Daniel spoke. It will be standing in the holy place." (Note to the reader: understand what this means!) "Then those who are in Judea must run away to the hills. Someone who is on the roof of a house must not take the time to go down and get any belongings from the house. Someone who is in the field must not go back to get a cloak. How terrible it will be in those days for women who are pregnant and for mothers with little babies! Pray to God that you will not have to run away during the winter or on a Sabbath! For the trouble at that time will be far more terrible than any there has ever been, from the beginning of the world to this very day. Nor will there ever be anything like it again. But God has already reduced the number of days; had he not done so, nobody would survive. For the sake of his chosen people, however, God will reduce the days. "Then, if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or 'There he is!'---do not believe it. For false Messiahs and false prophets will appear; they will perform great miracles and wonders in order to deceive even God's chosen people, if possible. Listen! I have told you this ahead of time. "Or, if people should tell you, 'Look, he is out in the desert!'---don't go there; or if they say, 'Look, he is hiding here!'---don't believe it.
The Word of the Lord for 2005 for YouthAFlame is this is the year we begin to fly, the year we let go of everything that would weigh us down and keep us grounded. The Lord wants us to be like an eagle (Is 41:-28-30) and soar above the problems of this world. He wants us to have a heavenly perspective, to have an eternal vision rather than a temporary earthly perspective. Many things we get so caught up about are really so insignificant when it comes to eternity.
What we are attached to in this world maybe what keeps us here. The bible commands us to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength; He wants us to put nothing ahead of Him. We need to be attached to nothing else but Him.
1Jo 2:15-18 Don't love the world's ways. Don't love the world's goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world--wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important--has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out--but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity. Children, time is just about up. You heard that Antichrist is coming. Well, they're all over the place, antichrists everywhere you look. That's how we know that we're close to the end.
Our time on earth is very short compared to eternity, we are here for a purpose, why get so attached to that which will quickly fade away, taking our eyes off what really matters to that which really does not. For the bible says only those who do His will are allowed into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 7:21 "Not everyone who calls me 'Lord, Lord' will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only those who do what my Father in heaven wants them to do.
If our daily desire is not to fulfill the will of God then we are attached to something else. Is there truly anything worth coming before our eternal destination. God does not send us to hell, salvation is a free gift from God, we choose where we want to spend eternity. If we are not attached to God we will be easily deceived by the antichrist spirit that is pervading our airwaves. We follow whatever we put our time and attention to; everything that is of this world apart from God was purposely created to draw us away from him. If we really love God we will give Him all of our time and attention and nothing will come between us and His will.
